Step back in time with rustic wide plank floors, fireplace and wood stove, old-timey quilts, and rockers on the wrap-around porch for enjoying the clear starry nights or views of the highest mountains east of the Rockies.

Our historic, 90-year-old cottage is completely renovated with all new appliances, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and all necessary linens – the cottage sleeps up to 8 people. There are 2 bedrooms: one with a double bed, single bed, and sleeping loft; the other with a queen size bed and views of the mountains on two sides. A queen size sofa bed is in the living room next to the fireplace. There is one large bathroom with a glass-brick walled shower. For entertainment on quiet nights or rainy days, there are also two cable TVs, a VCR, and a DVD player.

On the 2-acre lawn, under shady Poplar trees, you will find a volleyball/badminton net, horseshoe pit, hammock, picnic table, swing, and chairs. Known for it’s clean and clear water, the nearby South Toe River is popular for fishing, swimming, and canoeing/kayaking; inner tubes for floating can be rented nearby. The valley is also very popular for hiking, waterfalls, and mountain-biking.
Studios of glass-blowers, potters, and weavers are nearby, plus many art and craft galleries in both Yancey and Mitchell Counties.
The Blueberry Cottage rental season is from May through the end of October. Please see the calendar below for cottage availability.
The daily rate is $115, with a two-day minimum. Check in is 3:00 p.m. and check out is 11:00 a.m. (check out can be flexible if there are not overlapping bookings).
$20 Fee for well-behaved pets.
Rates include 11% NC Sales and Occupancy Tax and all cleaning fees.
Deposit is THE DAILY RATE by check or credit card. Scroll to bottom of this page to add the deposit to your shopping cart. Remainder must be paid on arrival for reservation.
We encourage you not to smoke, but if you must, smoking is allowed outside only; an extra cleaning fee will be charged for any residual smoke damage to the interior or any smoke garbage on the grounds.
